Yes, you must have a data provider. Yahoo for EOD data is free. We are paid if you ever decide to use our software for live trading.
 
Many brokers provide a live streaming quote feed, Interactive Brokers, Open E Cry, and some others.

It is either free, or is free with minimal commissions. Iq or E signal may be better for some charting applications , but for just quotes the Interactive brokers is usually adequate.
