I haven't gone through the whole thread, but I know when I was a kid I had a Notre Dame football workout book, and it worked well for me, but is outdated by todays standards. Today my 2 oldest are in highg school and the football programs use a program called Bigger, Faster, Quicker(i think thats it anyway). It can be used for any sport, or for getting in top shape. It has 4 main lifts for all sports, and from there expands out for each sport. It includes flexiblilty, aerobic/stamina, as well as the strength component. My oldest has been in it 2 years and as much McDonalds as the pig eats, he is still in much better shape than me when he gets back into the program. The 2nd son starts it this year in a more intense football program and I'll be interested to see what it does for him. He isn't the most coordinated or athletic, but has a big heart, and when he puts his mind to something he succeeds, so big brother maybe in for trouble. Especially since #2 outweighs him by 30 pounds all ready.
Sorry for the rambling, but my point was the program sounds like an all around great workout plan, and I would guess you can find more info from a local high school or college.
I'll also say the oldest after following the program all summer last year hit me in the bicep after I played a practical joke on him, and I had to fake a laugh and walk away it hurt so bad. I kid you not my arm hurt for a week after. He developed quite a bit of strength and looked really toned from the program.
