Best and Worst CNBC Commercials

The new Datek pub...
"Datek offers free realtime research..."
and a guy, smiling, looking at the camera saying "Free research? that helps!".
Don't they know that those research come from Merrill?? :D

That DYN commercial "Please pass the potatoes. I think they're in Chicago." Cute answer to an obnoxious performance by a hyperactive Jim Cramerette. I guess she's so wired because maybe she had the good sense to short DYN ??? :D

Thug-

Thanks for the info, I have always thought that it was real. So many people claim to know people that have gone cow tipping.

I have sucked some people into going Snipe hunting in my younger days if you are familiar with that trick.:)

I believe it was C/Net with the kid going on the bus and later learning sign language. It was the way it was shot. The first time I watched it I thought it was a movie. The camera angles and the music made it look like a movie. Anyhow, I bought the stock because of it and cleaned out :) So this commercial made me money. It gets my number one vote.

Money out of the whazoooooooo, jumping out of windows, and other E*Trade commercials were funny.

The Brown cartoon always made me feel special since you could only have an account with them if you have what it takes, lol.

One of the "get well connected" adds has nice music to it.

I was never a fan of Datek adds (or their brokerage services).

My favorite:

I think it was an E-Trade commercial? The guy was watching his position in his home office and he is making funny noises and expressions when his stock goes up and down. Then he jumps out of his window, and his sees his neighbor when he is lying on his lawn.

He's my HERO!!!

a commercial that bugs me is the td waterhouse one with the old guy in a chair acting real serious.

you mean Adam Shift, District Attorney New York (City), from the TV series Law & Order?

In the TDW ad where he's walking away from his car, notice the reflection in his windshiled of the TD Waterhouse sign. It appears correct, suggesting that the actual sign is reversed. I know they wanted us to see a "correct" sign in the reflection but to anyone who notices this stuff it's pretty nutty looking to see a correct mirror image.

These are the things we notice on sideways-trading markets LOL

Yeah his quick witted one liners and curmudgeon style were what made Law and Order. The show is definitely not the same since the wise old wolf left.

I can not believe this one has not been mentioned.........

.....remember the E-trade commercial where the CEO is giving a presentaiton and he starts talking through the parrot sitting on his shoulder. The camera shoots to a woman who keys in a sell order..............................

Another great one is the $80 million movie commerical for ..."This movie is gonna blow"................the guy sells his shares...........
