Best and Worst CNBC Commercials

the one where the infant newborn girls are in the nursery and one has on a pink hat, and then its thrown on the floor, then all the other girls throw theirs on the floor. The commercial concludes with someone (unseen) holding up the little girls fist in the air!

You know what pisses me off to no end? When 2 CNBC anchors (like Rebecca Quick and MCC right now) sit and bullshit with each other. It's so damn scripted and phony. Rebecca explains to Cabruso about Buffet investing in USAir, and Cabrusa pretends to be interested, nodding her head and asks the obviously teleprompted questions right back.

Face your paying customers, the viewers, not your puppet partner.

Maybe I've seen too many of those damn "I believe in the market . . I believe in me" ads and am in a shitty mood :D

Oh and how about that guy who comes home in his Chevy Blazer and totals out his wife's gift.

That expression on his face is priceless: "Uh, duh, who parked a new Celica in my garage?"
 
I agree on the phony scripted banter on CNBC, no doubt they were trying to re-create the actually real banter between Joe Kernen and David Faber or whoever you put next to Kernen. It didn't work though. They have a relatively new Producer on CNBC which explains a lot

Regarding "I believe in the market" commercial, could their timing be anymore off? - great one-liner Rigel.
 
Ok, for the worst:

In the "archives" is the 3 smug, cool-dude office workers talking about how they need stochastics, level-2, blah-blah-blah..and how silly it would be to refer to just the bid/ask without checking the depth of the market (ha ha ha), while the non-trading office moron comes by and says hi. (Reminiscent of Flounder in "Animal House": "Hi guys....playing cards?")

Current worst: the HIDEOUS Indian woman on ice skates refusing to let go of the wall while being coaxed by her family, with the GUT-WRENCHING zither music in the background.

for the best:
In the archives, I have to vote for the "Money out the wazoo" ad.

The only currently airing commercial that makes me smile is for Gateway, with the kids getting into the parent's SUV thinking they are going to the water park.

BONUS/WORTHLESS trivia: Those who mentioned the Fidelity moron wanting the map of the market, and his wife who said "I cant believe he said that"....If you look closely at the ad with Dell's "Steven" in the store talking the other kid's mom into buying him a Dell....that kid's mom is the wife of the guy in the Fidelity "map of the market" ad.
 
there's a recent new commercial that shows a guy in his cubicle that has grown another head on his shoulders and its growling. His coworker suggests that they (3) go for a Mike's Hard Lemonade. After consumption, it issues a disgusting burp.

That commercial is so disgusting that I will never buy that trash.

Perhaps their public relations department should read this posting.

Anybody know the symbol on their company?

hahah that commercial is funny - the best one is when the monster takes the guys wife off and he sits there and thinks "damn- and i really liked her too...." oh well, lets go get drunk on some mike's ya gotta admit- it makes you remember the product- subliminal messages work....

Great commercial - plus it's Mike's Hard Iced Tea, not Lemonade. Puhleez.

Love the Evil Head POV shots of her, too - not too subtly leering at her well-sweatered form...

One of the classics!

But also NOT a CNBC commercial - was more an NBA commercial...

So we got everything settled by now.

Heck, I like the whole Mike's series. I even like the Lemonade. Haven't tried the Iced Tea yet.
