Best 24 inch monitor?

Quote from Bearbelly:

Would one of you guys with a 24" screen give me the actual viewable width of it. Im assuming the 24 is a diagonal measurement but im more interested in the actual width of the visible screen. tia

The actual viewable width of my Dell 2405 is 19.75 inches.

If that's your view width, you've got a problem....

Yeah, you are right. Thankfully, my problem is with the measuring tape, not the 2405.

Sorry for the confusion.

Good research and a good deal. What computer and video cards do you use to drive 4 twenty-one inchers?

Just using the basic Nvidia GeForce FX cards... Anything recent withing the last 5 years. Never pay tmore than $120 for them.

This is a great monitor... PIP and the swivel is a nice touch..... Picture is clear. Text is sharp....

And the price is nice... $579.00

The only thing I hate is... This maonitor takes forever to autosync to a source..

If you have multiple systems running and turn on off, you have a WAIT.... My other units sync in ms's

See, you just missed an opportunity to use the math you learned in high school. These chances don't come along often, make the most of them!

The screen resolution is 1920x1200 so the width to height ratio is 1.6 to 1.

h^2 + (1.6 * h) ^2 = 24^2
3.56h^2 = 576
h = 12.72 inches
w = h*1.6 = 20.35 inches
