Bernie Sanders appeared on Sunday's "Meet the Press," and was obviously asked about the ongoing FBI investigation into allegations that he and his wife committed bank fraud, right?

Wrong.

On Thursday, Politico reported that Bernie and Jane Sanders had "lawyered up," retaining Larry Robbins, the attorney who defended Scooter Libby, and a local Burlington attorney to represent them. The investigation revolves around a $10 million loan package Burlington College took out when Jane was the college's president, and whether or not Bernie used his influence as a senator to ensure the loan was approved. There are also allegations that Jane falsified information on the application, claiming that the college had millions more in pledges than it did.The college ultimately defaulted on both loans - one to the local Catholic diocese and the other to the lending institution.

Then, when Jane Sanders was forced out of her job, reportedly for "fundraising deficiencies," she negotiated a $200,000 severance package - from a college on the brink of financial ruin.

These are extremely serious accusations, and most likely all Bernie could say is that he's not at liberty to discuss it on advise of counsel. But the question still should have been asked. Instead, we heard Sanders talk about how voters are pessimistic about both parties.

Wonder why that is, Bernie?

Someone might want to take a look at Maxine's financial shenanigans. Those poor congressman sleeping on their couches might want to get in touch with good old Maxine. She obviously knows how to stretch a dollar. The woman is a financial genius. Just a little more evidence that most all these crooks are on the take.
Tucker: Waters' $4.3M 'Housing Coup' Might Qualify Her for Ben Carson's Job

Tucker Carlson reacted to Rep. Maxine Waters' (D-Calif.) threat to "take [HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson's] a** apart" by noting she might indeed be qualified to take his job.

Carlson said Waters, a 40-year politician, lives in a 6,000 square-foot mansion worth $4.3 million that is not in her congressional district.

He asked how Waters could afford a home like that in a ritzy neighborhood while solely working as a representative of the 43rd District.

"We should take her seriously on this subject," Carlson said, calling her a "confirmed expert on the question on housing."

He said that while Waters sometimes speaks using racially-charged rhetoric, she lives in a neighborhood that is only six percent African-American.

At the same time she represents a district with the second-highest concentration of African-Americans in California.
