Bernie is way too old for any real shot in 2020. This is more about a democratic party trying to unify itself from the disjointed mess it has become trying to be all things to all people, except the you know who people. Don't need them pale faces and so long as they believe that, they'll have an uphill battle for the next 20 years or so. After that, not so much as the country gets more brown and black. They're just a wee bit too eager and getting ahead of themselves. Relax, you'll have it all soon enough. Then you're the dog that caught the car.

Bernie will remain though as sort of the karl marx ideological driver even if not holding the candidate's position. He already has his proteges lined up- bill deblasio, keith ellison, tulsi gabbard etc. Socialism is here to stay now.

Yes, Bernie still has a voice, but this move by the DNC is a last gasp to keep the democratic name in tact. Sooner or later they'll just surrender and will abandon that name and just call themselves what they really are, the North American Socialist party. Actually, some degree of honesty of what they've become might actually help them.
