that's pretty low. Especially when he jokes about it years later. He's not the only senator that got arrested back then. For many it was a badge of honor.

Actually it will be interesting to see how this shapes the Democratic nomination. This may sway minority voters that Bernie Sanders actually stood up for civil rights and drive some to vote for him rather than Hillary.

In the general election this simply becomes fodder for the Republican side that Bernie has a criminal record.
