(and lets not for get that $77.6 billion was in 1934 dollars when $77 billion would actually buy you something)
 
Bernie is right. He carried a select list of clients that made a lot of money. Most of them even demanded a certain specified return, and he would oblige. They all knew what was going on. The poor once, that got fleeced, were those that invested through feeder funds and never even knew they had their money with him.
 
Madoff's response is absolutely pathognomonic for narcissistic personality disorder. They should make him a textbook example.
