Bernanke gone after January 2014 - how dovish will his replacement be?

I'm very surprised by this news, looking forward to reading his memoir when he is out and gets a book deal.

I don't think this will change things hugely. Obama will appoint Yellen or another dove, Romney talks tough but he only did that when Rick Perry started to go full pitbull on the fed(before he never said bad things about bernanke), he didn't want to lose the Tea Party vote. He is likely to appoint Greg Mankiw

He certainly won't appoint anyone who will bring a recession

well, he's got a lot more patience than me. If some senator like Schumer told me to get to work, they would still be bleeping out my response

Candidates: Yellen, Mankiw, Hubbard, Taylor, Summers, Geithner.

If Obama is reelected, Summers.
If Romney, given the governor's rhetoric regarding Bernanke, i'd wager he'd choose Taylor.
