The FED has NOT been printing money. The TAF's are temporary repurchase agreements and so are the latest actions announced by the FED yesterday . . . the main difference being the fact that the FED is finally allowing and facilitating the transfer of some "good" collateral ( Treasuries ) onto the balance sheets of the banks that are unable to make loans anymore because their "good" collateral has already been all "pledged-out".

Has the wool been pulled over my eyes? Or have I just been misinterpreting everything for the last few years. I was under the impression that the Fed has been printing tons of cash and that is a big part of why there is so much inflation and the US$ is collapsing?

I find this whole thing rather tragic. The land of the free turned into the land of the powerful. The middle class and lower classes pays the bill for the rich and famous, who get more each year. For crying out loud... American citizens cant even trade without having 25k. Cant even own a foreign stock without having a company.

The problem started when Greenspan lowered the rate to almost zero, and the printing press started moving. Now this money is being used to buy oil, gold and food, driving prices higher.

Bush solution to hte problem??? Print more money by lowering taxes and increase deficit

Bernankes solution??? Print more money

I cant believe this is actually happening. For the first time of my life Im actually concerned about the US economy, and ive seen some crisis.

Their "good" collateral? Are you fucking kidding? The fed is valuing and monetizing assets that have no value on the open market which is different from printing money how?

Right on; I always suspect that Landis82 is working for the fed.

Even these so called assets has any value; fed's actions will delay interest payments; in return these amount liquidity will leaked out into the market; and it has been growing.

Ha Ha... Who let the WOLVES in.. who uh who who....? Some one left the farm's door open..

Wolf is not the only problem. Many of these chickens are not ours.
and their owners are thinking about pulling them out and moving them to a different farm.
