Beginner to T/A - what's up with Rambus?

Cnms - it sounds like you know a little about the Rambus story. I agree that T/A doesn't usually tell the Rambus story, but I was just trying to understand what really happened on Thursday from the experts.

Anyway, if you ever do take a true "long" positions - considering Rambus at this point could be very rewarding in time.
 
I am very familiar with high tech companies and stocks. In my opinion RMBS is more risky to trade than the tech norm, but I'll not argue with you.

I don't think that Thursday price action was a manipulation by big money, as you suspect.

I am sure you are correct with regard to this company being event driven.

Thanks for the testimony on a profitable RMBS trade, Steve.

Takes a certain type personality to trade a highly volatile single stock, like RMBS, not my personality.

And since back up systems do occasionaly do fail also ;
would rather if that does happen , rather it happen in something else, not in so jagged a candle chart pattern.

RMBUS has always tended to be wild ride:D

The first question you have to ask yourself is why are you posting this question here. If it is a genuine interest in what happened then ok but if you are looking for justification to hold your position, you have a problem.

If you are using fundamentals I would think that you would not be interested in one days move and in fact should ignore them otherwise you will get shaken out of a 5 year trade because of one day.

Personally, I can't see using fundamentals on tech firms unless you have "insider" fundamentals. As you see, some of these stocks swing and gap wildly. It doesn't matter how good RMBS fundamentals are, when a competitor comes out with a new technology or a major customer decides not to use their chips the funds don't wait for anything before they hit the sell button.
