I never upheld Flynn as a personal hero. I simply stated that the Flynn investigation is the one example within the early "Trump Russia investigations" of where the FBI exceeded its authority and used abusive tactics to drive a plea bargain conviction of lying to the FBI on very nebulous grounds IMO. During the transition period it is common for new officials to have contacts with foreign government officials -- the only requirement is that these contacts must be disclosed and documented.

I have stated that the FBI was overzealous in pursuing their case of Flynn as part of the Trump "Russia" probe. This is evidenced by the DOJ unwillingness to further pursue it after court challenges. The Flynn case is the only one where I believe they overstepped (in context of Trump "Russia").
I never made Flynn out to be some sort of great general or advisor.
