This team is no longer a team of underperformers:
Jeffrey.
Forte.
Marshall.
Bennett.
The holes in the O-line were plugged but they lack fluidity due to injury.
Guys are playing different positions and there are challenges with that.

Trestman was brought in to hone Cutler's talent and he has not done so, sure his footwork has gotten better, but he has not been taught how to manage a game yet.
The Bears put all their money into the offense over the last years, they finally spent some money on their defense but the players are not gelling and playing well yet.

Isn't this the same D-coordinator that Lovey had?

I agree with your Cutler comment- turnover machine.

I don't follow the team that closely, but I agree they have some formidable weapons on offense. There is a limit to what a coach can accomplish. particularly with a veteran player who has a huge contract.

In other news, Lovie isn't exactly lighting it up in Tampa Bay.

It's frustrating to be an NFL fan, unless you are a fan of one of the handful of well-run organizations. Even then, it can be problematic. Look at teh Steelers this year.

I follow the Redskins and just shake my head as they make one dumb decision after another. They have managed to get like 2 1/2 serviceable players out of their last two drafts.
 
My own view is the bears go as Cutler goes and Cutler's problem is that he goes on tilt just like a trader or gambler when things initially go bad. If somebody picks him off in the first quarter and he has a couple of bad series, it's just like a trader that had a few bad trades to start off the day and just falls apart. Looks just the same to me. Some kind of mental and emotional training is what he needs, I think.
 
Bears fire GM and another tweet said the coach is gone, too. I wonder if they're going to try to make these guys take the fall and hang on to Cutler.

edit: yet another tweet from the same source. " the Bears have never hired a coach with previous NFL head coaching experience."

You heard right, Bears fired head coach and Gen Mgr.
... Cutler cost too much $ to get rid of and no one would take him anyway
 
The Bears' new coach and GM will likely want to jettison Cutler. Not a problem for the GM as he wasn't the guy who gave him the big contract. Cutler is a proven coach killer, so what new coach would want him?

Ironically, I believe they will be able to trade him pretty easily. I predict he will go to a good team too, if he is traded. He would be a clear upgrade for five or six teams that are not half bad, eg Jets, Bills, Browns, Texans, even Arizona if Palmer can't return next year. It makes no sense to trade for him if you have a terrible team. We have already see how he will react in that kind of situation. But put him on a team with a good offensive line, some weapons and a running game and he might do ok.

That's the thing. Some organizations are just better. Take Old Man Ford's team, for instance. Looks like they are about to lose their 11th post season game next weekend. They've won just one playoff game since 1957! And they have had some real talent. But WCF Sr. was well known around Detroit as being incapable of running an org. Supposedly, Ford Motor Company moved him off to side jobs to keep him from doing real damage to the company.

I'm too out of the loop these days to know if his kid is any better.

But I agree, the front office is far more important to the team than most fans credit, at least these days.
