Things ALWAYS go UP, DOWN or SIDEWAYS. (or delisted!) While one is "being careful" there have been A LOT of good bidirectional trades. Probably more than a single directional trade. And one was possible and actionable, and the other theoretical, and perhaps still coming.
It is called trading, not prognosticating. Prognostications are usually money or ego driven. Sort of like thinking the market knows or cares if YOUR modest position is P/L positive or negative and therefore you should make a decision based on that "care".
Perhaps think of it as an ocean or a river. Sometime fast and turbulent, sometimes super calm. But you floating in it has NO importance. Ever try to swim up a river? Try swimming down river to cross it?
BTW: The sooner one gets over prognosticating, the better, as it is a sign of learning the markets. Sort of like getting out of 3rd grade on the way to middle school.
