The right wing never had a problem when Charleton Heston used his celebrity to support the NRA, etc. Hannity has on celebrities who are right wingers, and has love fests with them....
It isn't about celebrities speaking their mind, it is about the fact that the right wing don't like what left wingers say....
As is usually the case, the party of conformity wants to muzzle anyone who speaks their mind freely.....

Multi levels. Let's say I'm technically the best singer in the world but my voice isn't "pleasing". Huey Lewis for instance had little skill as a singer or songwriter but on an AM radio his voice sounded friendly. Is Huey Lewis then on some level not better than the "perfect" voice? People seek entertainment not to be judges of everyone elses talent.
The same way someone can be a brilliant doctor but a complete dunce in some other category. I'm sure there's traders with 2k in an IB account who could out duel Soros but while they need to make a 100% a month to live, Soros is a billionaire off of 20% years. Likewise there's running backs who played behind poor offensive lines in college, or who didn't get enough carries, who would have been great pro's if given an equal chance. Instead of being millionaires they're now living in squaller. No matter how "competitive" a field is there's still no clear cut proof that only cream rises to the top.
