Quote from Baruch:

Hi,

Why should I? My system is very simple, so everyone can test it - or trade it. It's not a black box.

But I think I will trade more live - with a trailing stop, so I don't have to post every time I am moving the stop.

PS. Right now I am short.

And right now I have lost connection to my broker so I don't know what happens. We need to have two brokers in situations like this.

One way to solve the broker data problem is to open a free oanda training game account. I have one that I open occasionally to keep track when futures are doing the gap / huge spread thing.

You just need to be aware of the cash/futures spread or do a quick calc on recent prices.

I would say you were stopped out with a 10pip gain, that is if your stop was moved down to 1.1934.

Yes. A 10 pips gain - and a lot of problems because of the lost connection. But now it works again.

Hi,

OK - and thanks. My broker has both forex and futures, but I need another source.

P.S. I don't like Oanda's charts - there are no line charts...

And one more from old Baruch:

"Another common illusion some people have is that they can do anything - buy and sell stocks, dabble in real estate, run a business, engage in plitis - all at once. My own experience is that few men can do more than one thing at a time - and do it well. A skilled operator in any field acquires an almost instinctive "feel" which enables him to sense many things even without being able to explain them. In a few instances, as in coffee, where I went into speculations where I lacked this "feel", I have not done too well."

And a last one from Baruch:

"Don't try to buy at the bottom and sell at the top. This can't be done - except by liars.

Don't try to be a Jack of all investments. Stick to the field you know best."

Baruch's book "My Own Story" was published in 1957. There was also a paperback.

I think it will a very good idea to reprint Baruch's book. It's much better than most - if not all - new trading books. And he proved that his trading ideas and rules was good - because he died as a very rich man. And he speculated/traded until his last day.

But I "lost" 50 pips or more because I could not take the buy signal.

Agreed re oandas charts. They could do with a lot of work.

What I did notice is that their prices are nicely aligned with futures prices (1min charts). Some of the other forex brokers prices seem to move very slowly, freeze or move out of alignment from time to time. One even jittered up and down 2-5 ticks at a very high rate - I couldnt figure that one at all.
