Baron's Crypto Trading Journal

So it's looking pretty solid so far and I will hold for as long as the fundamentals stay that way.
Or until that magical new coin that the idiots think is just around the corner, complete with the hashrate to match for security, all the same features such as being permissionless and trustless, having no pre-mine or VC's behind the project, and the list goes on. I'm sure that fork is just around the corner with miners are lined up to support the network. :D

Interesting article by Martin Armstrong on the history of alternative (private) currencies:

https://www.armstrongeconomics.com/world-news/civil-unrest/18th-century-copper-riots-private-money/

Basically the use of private money begins when there is a shortage of government money. In the case of BTC and all the other coinz it was the reverse: during one of the most prolific periods of QE came the many alt coins that absorbed much of that excess fiat, and allowed people living in oppressive countries a way to get their wealth out, so they could buy real estate in Vancouver or California.

Fundamentally, our situation is almost the reverse of the old times when private money was used in other situations. We're in uncharted territory......

Virtusa,

It's ironic that the guy who makes all sorts of claims about his trading performance and provides no proof whatsoever of anything is the one guy who demands proof of someone else's claim. I have tried to be very patient with you and I have let you go on and on and make all sorts of derogatory statements about me. I've let you twist my statements around and make your point 1000 times over.

In regards to your statement on multiple occasions about me providing no proof of trading before this journal, I would like to provide you with some interesting data. At first I was going to dig up some screenshots from various BTC purchases a few years before this journal started, but then I figured I might as well swing for the grand slam and go back to the beginning.

Here's a screenshot of a 7 BTC purchase of mine from back in 2013:

Here's another one a few weeks later for another 7 BTC:

As you can see, these two purchases for roughly 14 BTC was a decade ago.

But hey, let's go back further, shall we?

Here are two wire confirmations from April of 2012 to Mt. Gox, the first Bitcoin exchange to purchase $3,000 worth of BTC.

I could sit here and keep posting these all day long to fill in the time gap between then and now, but hopefully you get the point.

I'll let you figure out how much Bitcoin that $3,000 purchased in April of 2012.

"Clean up on aisle 5" someone shit their pants... Drop the MO-Fo Mic kid.

Now its Virtusa turn to produce something to back up some of his smack.

This is the one thing that absolutely makes ET a shitty place to be sometimes. I have had to leave on many occasions because so called trading gurus want to ridicule new guys that are struggling but offer nothing but hindsight analysis. They make impressive claims and then hide behind a litany of excuses when asked to show some evidence of actual trading or that they were magically doing everything better.

Now I realize that each member has to do his own due diligence and since nothing is being sold here there is no expectation or requirement of proof, but this means that the bullshit factor here is an order of magnitude higher than it should be. Imagine if your email service had no way to filter Spam. You would refuse to check your email.

Going through the threads here and reading all about the incredible profits some are making, or the obscure technique they are using, and pumping, but having no way to verify this, and even worse, being told that each trader needs to do their own homework, actually turns users away. Imagine if drug companies offered drugs but told customers to do their own research on safety or side effects! LOL.... As I say, nothing is being sold and all the anonymous members here have a right to share as much or as little as they want, but I can't help but wonder how much better ET could be if this "spam" was eliminated or at least tagged. A blue checkmark for verified members that can in some way prove trading ability would be incredible.

Some members do show the odd trade stats from their platform, and some members show charts with trades. Sometimes we also get a PnL for the day, of even a PnL broken down by each trade. Most don't come close to what either @destriero or @Dustin have shown, but it would be nice if there was some mechanism to differentiate between actuals traders with real accounts who put on real trades and the other 90% here who just make comments as if they were actually trading.
You can pretty much count on those who like to brag but don't want to reveal the "secret sauce" or it would lessen their edge are full of shit. The keys to successful trading are to have a thorough understanding of price behavior and development, develop and test a trade plan based on your work on the prior and develop the disciplines to preserve your edge. Price behaves the same for everyone but not everyone does the work to understand and profit from that understanding....all of which take considerable time and effort.

There is nothing mysterious about trend flags, Double Tops and Bottoms, retracement zones, wedges etc. etc..Trading the repeatable concepts profitably is a whole other thing requiring that which few seem to put forth the effort required. These forums are as apt to lead a new or developing trader on the wrong track as they are to provide council of value. Caveat Emptor

Exactly right. Its hardly ever the method even, but the psychology of the trader to continue regardless of any one trade outcome. This forum is sometimes a bunch of guys fighting over whose wife is the prettiest without anyone sharing even a god damn sketch! LOL
