if you can't see the difference between the two then you need a reality check. that is in theory what mental professionals are supposed to help people with. you see to be the kind of person who has difficulty in discerning the difference between a pothole and a crater in the road.

I thought I was in P&R reading this thread.
Is it possible that the P&R forum would practically reduce traffic in terms of post numbers? Or actually increase traffic, as a matter of fact?
P&R could possibly function like a cancer cell. Some P&R posters would easily allow themselves to use their colourful P&R expression/manner posting in all other forums. That could be problematic to many posters/visitors.
Furthermore, two members with opposite political views, after reading/discussing with P&R colourful posts/language, may not feel comfortable anymore in making further responses in other forums against each other, whether the same colourful P&R language/expression is used or not.
Perhaps the P&R forum provides just one single link directing visiting readers/posters to another site (say, ETforPolitics.com) designed mainly for P&R discussion among ET members. Where each poster, when posting on the ETforPoilitics.com site, will be automatically assigned/converted to another user name different from normal ET user name.

Which is entirely fine, whatever fills the pockets, right? Does it have to be off the back of hate speech and racism, however? That is, I guess, what perplexes me.
Just to clarify, its none of my business to decide nor care about whether a discussion forum owner decides to include threads that relate to politics and religion. It is however my business, and it should be everyone's, to not duck and cower when individuals day in, day out, feed racist rhetoric and hatred towards minorities and disseminate fake news into those threads. Being quiet about it and pretending it does not exist is being complicit and agreeing that it is ok.
