Like I said, I wasn't looking for a republican history lesson. I don't believe republicans will be a factor in the next two years.

What other choices are there? The Republicans will piss themselves if the Democrats try to cut the military budget, even though it's grown to almost 50% of the entire budget, and more than the top ten other countries of the world combined, and nobody can touch Social Security because it's the "third rail" of politics.

What did you think was going to happen when you supported the war? That it would pay for itself?

Raising taxes when the economy is under stress will not increase government revenues, because the economy will shrink even further. JFK, Ronald Reagan and Bush 43 all cut taxes and increased government revenue through stimulated economic growth.
