Poll Finds Tea Party Backers Wealthier and More Educated

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/15/us/politics/15poll.html?_r=0

Tea Party supporters are wealthier and more well-educated than the general public, and are no more or less afraid of falling into a lower socioeconomic class, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.

The 18 percent of Americans who identify themselves as Tea Party supporters tend to be Republican, white, male, married and older than 45.

They hold more conservative views on a range of issues than Republicans generally. They are also more likely to describe themselves as “very conservative” and President Obama as “very liberal.”

And while most Republicans say they are “dissatisfied” with Washington, Tea Party supporters are more likely to classify themselves as “angry.”...

To simplify....older angry white males wishing for the good old days. Thanks for the study Jem!:D :D

Surfing the web while on the clock again I see. No wonder 200,000 patients die needlessly in hospitals every year due to staff mistakes.

How very unprofessional of you.

I saw that site yesterday. Just curious, but does it have any past accuracy it can stand on?

...The establishment Right will do anything to keep a conservative from the top of the ticket. That includes Rove and others who don't believe a conservative can win. Reagan proved them all wrong, because it was the same when he ran, yet they fear it more then a left wing president...
What about Bushes 1 & 2?

Not sure regarding 1, but 2 until present: Moderate on top, token conservative as VP. Worked for Bush 2 first time (just barely), but didn't work for McCain, won’t work for Romney. When Reagan, a conservative, was on top it was a landslide.

I won't count the second term for Bush 2 due to the circumstances at the time.

Reagan was a fiscal RINO. He raised taxes when he had to, and deficit outspent every president before him.

True, but I'm talking social, not fiscal. I can't remember having a fiscally conservative republican prez in my lifetime.

Okay, but are you saying Reagan was more socially conservative than what Romney/Ryan are putting forward?
