To say that this book is a hard read is an understatement. The editor should be taken out back and shot.
If you are going to fight your way through âBar by Barâ I would suggest starting at the back. Read the âGlossaryâ first, then the âTrading Guidelinesâ. If you are following all the Trading Guidelines then you should attempt to work your way through the rest of the book.
Read the preface next, then chapter 1. After that you can open the book at random for some pretty good insight into reading price action.
Was it worth the 50 bucks? It almost certainly reinforced things that I already knew. I believe I learned somethingâs that will help me in the future, so for myself Iâd say it was a good investment. If someone offered me my money back I would keep the book.

i got to read some more last night on the train home after a day off. the chapter on trading ranges had some incredible gems that would have been helpful years ago.
the only problems are:
1) i don't know if i'd have appreciated them until i had actually lost money and seen similar setups over and over.
2) things aren't written in a clear and concise fashion, and that obscures the really important (and valuable) information.
it's a GREAT book for information, but structurally, it's probably the worst-written book since farley's. and i liked his book as well, but i would get a headache if i read more than one chapter at a time.

i doubt if brooks book comes anywhere near the book that i took the excerpt from..but as i have not read brooks book i can not say for sure..just a gut feeling
i do not divulge real trading secrets that easy..and the book that i have in my possession..for many years..indeed has many little unknown secrets that most traders would never even think of!
it is like everything else in life..the good bits are never easy to find..for obvious reasons:eek:

So is beals book on hypnosis and the cosmic mysteries of the universe working out for you?
