Absolutely.
I know bunch of people who bought Glocks a few years ago.
I would say most of the non ex military gun owners I knew had Glocks.
However, a few years ago when I lived lived near a bunch of military and ex military guys they tended to have Sigs or Kimbers (I am not sure they owned them but many of them loved Kimbers.)

One of the ranges with very competitive prices was recommending them.
Once I realized I had to hold it tight (which is odd if you play sports where you hit things with a bat or a racquet or a club) I never had a misfire.

and I was not limp wristing as much as I was keeping my hand loose.
My wrist was not moving, I was letting the gun move slightly back into the v in my hand because I was trying to keep my hand relaxed. This was months into my shooting two to three times weekly as I was trying to get tighter groupings and experimenting with one handed shots and aiming quickly as if I was having to shoot quickly.

I'm sure all the good law abiding and non law abiding citizens of San Diego County are all breathing a sigh of relief.on purpose...

I found I prefer shooting one handed up to about 20 feet if I was imposing the idea I had to aim quickly.

In fact I am not sure, but I think an ideal glock grip may be a bit different than and ideal 1911 grip. I am not sure because I did not take lessons with the other hand guns.

I traded equities with a group out of NY after I left SF and then Futures with a group out of Chicago. I know of Mike K but never heard of Marshall. Never was a fan of D.Bright.
