The price consumers pay for goods and services has nothing to do with the price of financial assets insofar as Central Bank mandates are concerned. I'd advise you to read up a bit on the subject.
As for the opposition to central banks taking a role in financial markets, they have always been in financial markets to some degree or another. But directly buying stocks? That's a new development.
