In Canada, if you're charged with so much as uttering a threat they come and take your guns away. You can get them back if and when things are straightened out.

I guess that's one way of resolving the paradox:

First guy: Crazy people should not be allowed to have guns!
Second: How do we know they are crazy?
First: When they gun down a dozen people, of course.
