Baking soda against fatigue

I think it does help, but hard to say how much. I also used Magnesium spray on my legs, and that could have helped too. Played a little more tennis this morning, taking it easy. Last night I could hardly walk.

So yesterday I tried something different. After playing tennis I did the following:

1. I took a hot bath and massaged my leg muscles.
2. I sprayed Mg on my legs both before (1 hour) and after the bath.
3. I took extra (double the usual) Mg and Potassium, thus probably replenished the electrolytes.

Now this morning I feel pretty good, my legs are tired but no muscle soreness.

I guess this ends the baking soda experiment...

Personal experience:

After yesterday's tennis this morning my leg muscles were sore. At 7 am I took about 1g baking soda in capsules, on empty stomach. Now 3 hours later I can definitely say my legs are way less sore. Keep in my 1g is pretty small amount, when people take it for heart burn a table spoon is easily 2-3g.

Next time I will take it before exercise and see if it helps with preventing muscle fatigue.
Are you still A+ and why not pickleball? We followed the old D-A+ and Open when I was a kid.

Edited: A for me(Back when I was kid before morphing to lifting and long distance cycling.).

I am not sure what the A+ refers to, but my tennis skills are the best of my life, meaning I was not good before. :)

We play weekly pickle ball during the summer season, on Monday evenings. It hasn't started yet.

Did she recover OK?

When I played tournaments, ranking was.

D.

C.

B.

A. “4.5
Advanced Player: Starting to master the use of power and spins; can handle pace, has sound footwork, can control depth of shots and is beginning to vary game plan according to opponents. Can hit first serves with power and accuracy and place the second serve. May have played varsity or college club tennis.”

And Open level “Agassi, Mac, Stephen Edberg(Killer second serve).

I play tennis for the fun of it, not for ratings. Also, you want to play somebody in the same range and skill set you are in, otherwise it is not fun for one of the players.

By the way baking soda raises your rating by 2 grades!

Very true, the lower ranking player usually pull’s the higher ranker’s game down because they’re holding back or feel sorry for us :)
