Just different ...

so we've made full circle .. and .. you are searching for something (but it's not in europe) :-/

No I am not searching; I am experiencing different things, people and cultures ...

Skip HK, try Thailand, Malaysia or Macau.

All depends what you're looking for. HK is in a great location for quick trips around the region. excellent infrastructure, diverse community, little bit of a nasty virus going around though and rents are still outlandishly high. I'd agree with parts of Thailand but Malaysia - couldn't pay me to live there under the current leadership. Macau? I'd rather live in HK and take the ferry. I'm not sure how old some of you guys but the worlds a big place. not everyone is comfortable uprooting and trying something new. my hat's off to metooxx. while he may never be satisfied with living in one place, I bet he'll enjoy trying to find nirvana.

Ok def, you put up a good argument. HK is a good place to catch a nasty virus, pay outlandishly high rents, and from which to leave, often, on trips to other places - perhaps Macau? Sounds attractive, let me think about it ...

Btw, ever been to Borneo, Malaysia? The beaches, diviing, jungle trekking, and overall tranquility rivals (most) anything in Thailand. And you don't even have to like the leadership to visit or live there. There is even a budding tax haven there, to get back to the thread topic - Labuan.
