- The Board removed Thomas Jefferson from the Texas curriculum, "replacing him with religious right icon John Calvin."


- The Board refused to require that "students learn that the Constitution prevents the U.S. government from promoting one religion over all others."


– To avoid exposing students to “transvestites, transsexuals and who knows what else,” the Board struck the curriculum’s reference to “sex and gender as social constructs.”

– The Board struck the word “democratic” from the description of the U.S. government, instead terming it a “constitutional republic.”

Do you know why Texas flies it's flag at the same height as the Stars and Stripes?

Btw, the Constitution does not prevent the US Government from promoting one religion over another, it just grants each individual the right to worship as they want.

Most parents want their kids to get an honest education, not fairy tales about all the imagined contributions of every minority pressure group. They also don't see why government schools should be in the business of promoting deviant sexual behavior.

Well, the board is half right. They should not have removed Thomas Jefferson, primary author of the Declaration of Independence, from the curriculum. Nor should they have removed the requirement to learn the 1st Amendment. But sex and gender are biological realities, not "social constructs". And, yes, this country is supposed to be a constitutional republic. The founding fathers warned about the dangers of an unfettered democracy.
