Oh god

Why even bother trading with $2000
You're never gonna get that account up to where you can start trading for real
Go get a damn job!

my next post in this thread will be when i'm either over $4,000 or back under $2,000.
This is not a journal so I am relocating it, but best of luck to you Gordon.

You are trying to relive the Edison experience (1000 failed lightbulbs) aren't you?

I think the advice to get a job isn't that bad. I am in the same boat as you are. My trading isn't going that well either. In order to get some perspective from outside the trading world I should get a job too (not for the money, I can still support myself with trading). but well, I am kinda lazy too..

Betting huge like this will statistically blow you out
due to random noise.

You will need pure luck along with skill to pull this off.

If you can get far enough above water, cut your size back
as soon as you can.

Good luck...

no skill is needed, just pure luck. he just may do it !

ahh, the "Martingale Strategy"
ie. - increase the size of your bet during losing periods.

or

put another way:

the surest way to go broke when undercapitalized.

I hate to bet against you GG, but unless you stop swinging for the fences and start spraying around the singles and doubles, you're doomed.

Show a little discipline and you'll have a much better chance of succeeding.

if you want to trade and are severely handicaped by lack of capital-- GG--- you NEED TO SWING FOR THE FENCES. stranger things have happened in the market than GG doubling his money....... believe me.

Personally I'd still go for singles/doubles if I were in his situation. I think he needs to prove for himself that he has a strategy than can actually produce a positive expectancy (which to date he has never had, as far as I know).

Once he's satisfied that he does have a successful strategy -- he can swing away.

I believe this is probably the first time I have responded to a GG thread...mostly because they just seem to end up being long, pointless diatribes full of name-calling and other unpleasantries.

However, I wish you success, man. Sometimes utter desperation is a good thing...really, I'm not shitting you.

Best,

what the heck else will you do with only 2k! you should donate it to your local church or take a credit card advance and start a real account. LOL
