so you are telling me I have been using the previous H/L as resistance/ support wrong all these years lol.
jk... point is all is garbage.
I use the ATR all the time to set limit prices for entries....works well in this regard.

Hi,
Eg - QRVO: 10/31/19 ATR = $1.55 (TradeStation), $1.70 (TDAmeritrade), $2.19 (IB). Sometimes all providers are only within a few pennies from each other, and other times they vary significiantly. This is driving me nuts. Can some knowledgeable soul please shed some light on this? Thanks!
- Why is the Average True Range (ATR) (daily timeframe, 14 periods) inconsistent between providers?
- When do most providers calculate the daily ATR (end of day, once a week on Fridays, other)?
@GaryBtrader - Thanks for the specific suggestion, I will do that! Also, I use ATR in a similar way as you. Do you also use it for exits or mainly just entries?
@Metamega - Thanks for the link - the visuals were great, and it explained some of the differences across providers as well!
@steven21 - Thanks! Is this part of the ATR calculation formula? Sorry for the question maybe I'm just missing it.
@El_Cubano - It isn't available as a "column" on watchlists; only as a "study" on the charts. There may be a way to get it to display on the quote panels as well, but I haven't tried. Hope this helps!
