Automated Trading Needs

Quote from caementarius:

After you have the installed software you need installed, you bundle a new instance that is yours alone.

You can save data without bundling an instance (which seems to take like 20-30 minutes or so(. To do this you create a volume and attach it to your instance. Also, you can lease a static IP and map it to a hostname (using your own DNS services). This makes it nice so you can remote desktop to the same hostname.

Thanks. I will look into these.

One annoying thing that I don't understand is that sometimes, after creating an instance, I can't remote desktop or browse to the machine, etc, even though I have attached a security group that allows these connections to the instance.

Strange, now it lets me in, but I have no idea what the Administrator password is. When I try to create a windows password for the instance, it says:

"No password was found.

There does not appear to be a generated Administrator password for this Windows instance. It is likely that this AMI has a built-in password known only to its creator. Please check the Log Output for details or contact the AMI owner."

I check the log and I don't see anything resembling a password entry. And I am the friggin AMI owner
