this is quite interesting. congratulations on having what must be a profitable automated trading system.
now, slippage when trading 1 or 2 mnq contracts automated is a non factor. trading 8 contracts with multiple round trips per day is very different, specially when taking into consideration the price action that was observed this past week.
¿what kind of system are you trading? ¿which platform do you use? ¿how many contracts and trades does your systems take per day? if you want your post to be helpful to the hopeful you would do well to disclose as much information as you can.
Can any of your system pass the TopStepTrader or Earn2Trade, etc? I think it’s your best bet.
I think none of real prop firms (like HRT, Jane, etc) will take you seriously and they don’t fund traders anyway.
There are lots of issues with settings up private funding and, personally, I would expect for you to double the initial small account within a year (via edge+max leverage) prior to getting paid anything. Of course if you had such system, you wouldn’t need funding in the first place.
When I tried to get funding (I didn’t even need money, I needed infrastructure), it went something like : So you want us to take a chance on you but you want to keep your IP? So if it doesn’t work, which is most likely, we just wasted our time, resources, and risked our capital. If it does work, we have funded your proof of concept and after a year or so you will have enough money to trade on your own or take your metrics to a competing firm? Thanks but no thanks. I am not sharing this to discourage you, just to show how these guys think. They think in risk:reward as well. Hope you find what you are looking for.
as soon as i have enough capital to trade 5 - 8+ nq contracts (as well as other instruments) by myself that's exactly what i will do.
I agree with this...and trading with E-Mini Micros you are likely paying 50% more in commission costs and exchange fees than with the big contracts. I know I am thru Interactive Brokers. It really sucks. It sounds like you should try to get a loan from conventional sources (banks, relatives, etc.) and/or save money from an ordinary job until you have enough for full-time, automated trading.
