I've just discovered a great little utility that records mouse and keyboard actions, and can play them back (at original speed) to automate the process of opening and closing TWS and any other apps you want (like auto trading apps)! No need to stay up til 1:00am anymore to restart TWS!!
The recorded mouse and keyboard movements are saved to a file, which can then be targeted to create a Windows "Scheduled Task". (Is that cool or what!!).
Maybe someday IB will go to a 24/7 system; but in the meantime, this looks like an excellent alternative.
