The incarceration of loyal Japanese Americans was an unconstitutional tragedy that failed to distinguish between invader-wannabes/actual invaders and the sacrosanct, protected status of American citizens who are entitled to respect and full protection of the law. Many/most of the incarcerated Japanese were American citizens.

That's why we should never follow policies that blur the line between citizens and non-citizens. The Japanese in the camps argued publicly and before the Court - Korematso v. U.S.- that firm distinctions should be made between U.S. citizens and those seeking to force their way into the country. I am 100% on board with that.
