The best way to know if my mentor was a real trader is to compare his profit report for the day with mine to see if it correlates since if he taught me the system, we should be taking some of the same trades.
I looked at his report for the day, and we both took some of the same trades and both made around the same profit for the day.
I did take other trades not based on his system too, but on my own system that I am working on.
Austin is right in that you will never exactly match the teacher since you might exit early on one of trades like I did today since Mr. Chicken got to me again. Bad chicken.
I still made more money than working at a normal job, and did not have to do any over time. The time issue is probably the best reason to be a trader, not the money. Since I had to get up around the same time, but when I don't trade, spend about an hour in traffic both ways, and in the end work alot longer. Hopefully, this trading busines will work out for me, and I will not need to go back to a normal job or start a business.
My personal belief is that Austin makes money trading. However, I would never take a class from him if he was unwilling to show proof of real money trades he made for 6 months. I spent enough money taking classes, and some of them were worthless. Plus some of the books I bought were worthless too.
