AUS bonds through IBAUS

Tried to find from IB AUs If one can purchase ASX listed AUs Govt and Corporate Bonds!
Customer service says NO?
Any body has any exp
Also with an exchange traded bond held until expiry is the yield paid on face value? or closing price of Bond
One AUS bond is trading around 105+ and the interests is 5.5% so if bought at 105.6 and held till expiry do we get paid 5.5% of 100 or whatever the closing price on the last day?
Assume you can borrow at 3% and invest for 5,5% but then if purchase price is already 105.5 then what is the point!

The point is that you won't be borrowing at lower rate than your govt That is a big point.
true but with home equity I am able to borrow say at 2.75% and then can invest in this Govt Bond for 5.5 provided I use the NON Exchange traded version. but then I wonl;t be able to leverage

@def where you able to get anywhere on this?
I'm also looking for markets on the AUD bonds.
Specifically the Treasury Index Bonds listed on ASX.
https://www2.asx.com.au/markets/trade-our-cash-market/overview/bonds

sorry for the delay getting back to you as I haven't been on the forum for a while. Adding the aussie gov bonds due to the particulars of the contract and how they trade requires some coding n our side. That work has been scheduled and ongoing. Baring no unexpected hiccups, it should be available within the next couple of weeks.

@def Thank you very much for the response.
On a similar note, IB offers access to UK Gilts, both conventional and inflation linked.
However, the inflation linked bond don't show any yield calculation (as they do for US Tips).
Any idea why that is?

As an aside @def considering how large your company is, maybe they should have a dedicated forum correspondent, whose sole purpose is to respond as quickly as possible to posts on forums?

Just a thought. You guys are big enough to have someone in that dedicated position. It might actually bring you more business. Does Petterfy not realize this?

There is some thought to that but of course there are numerous forums with various levels of knowledge from the participants. There are also requirements for record keeping and surveillance, quality control, etc. If and when we do that I'm sure they'll be an announcement via our site or IBNEWS.
