every time there is high vol...articles explaining a new reason for it appear. personally i think its all bs..there's vol because of perceived unknowns. isn't there anyone left here who remembers just a few years ago "derivatives" ie: cds, etc were to blame for vol? now its a whole new set of products when most likely its simply uncertainty.
 
Agree with you. The difference now imo is that it's uncertainty with better, faster tools. It's speed creates a situation of no or low liquidity. Volatility is my best friend in short term trading. It's meaningless in long term investing.
