the whole thing is very confusing to me a Midwesterner. That whole island looks like a paradise conceived in a dream. Beautiful weather, beautiful baseball and beautiful girls. Not so sure if I was a Cuban I would want Americans coming down there to ruin everything.

when I was a young hippie I spent some time in Key West, and all my landlady ever talked about was someday getting back her house that Castro stole from her
but getting back to auctions, who knows what will happen when they start auctioning off all that culture to the highest American bidder
I think it will fetch alot of interest. For some reason Europeans and Americans like Cuabn stuff. I have $300,000 in Cuban bonds my granfather gave me issued by the bank of New York. The last interest ticket redeemed was in 1959. I have to look again at when they matured I think in the 70's...you think they will honor that? hahah
I'm not so sure we like Cuban stuff, but we like old stuff, and Cuba has been stuck in time
just heard on cnbc that they are opening up a ferry line between Miami and Cuba, complete with state rooms and casinos, whole trip takes about 15 hours
the first time I ever had Cuban coffee I was a vegetarian living on a very pure diet. They poured me it in a plastic drinking glass about a 1/4 full, and most of that was just sugar. I drank it and a friend drove by, and instead of just waving to him I started chasing his van like a dog. Man, I felt invincible!
