From what I was listening to on the radio, the sequester is a very long term thing. The real impact may never actually be noticed or appreciated.

It's almost completely irrelevant. The $$$ this year is only about $40B and they can act at any time to change things.
There are other potentially actionable (market might care) items later. The CR dies around March 27, so the gov could shut down and the debt ceiling needs to be bumped up at some point. Italy was a bigger deal for a few days.
