The U.S. is not financing everyone in teh world. It is the other way around!!! The world is financing the U.S. twin deficits so that its interests can be artificially low and U.S. profligates can continue to spend and live of world's production.

U.S. saving rate is come on notorious. U.S. deficits? laughable. what would happen if one day the world stop buying up T-bills in exchange for exports? magic

If we were to do an experiement and isolate a cell called U.S. out of our sample called world (providing all its nutrients), the cell will starve because it does not have enough cloroplasts to conduct photosynthesis to support itself.

In these days of globalization and world trade US is not carrying anyone.............it used to in 70s and 80s but nothing substaintial. They buy Chinese and other nation goods because they are cheaper and fairly good if not top quality.

In Capitalism there is no free lunch folks........if seeking a free lunch left and right then it will end up as what US financial house is today.

Regarding innovation and new stuff, the half of the other world rotten and stunk under the communism and socialism for whole of 20th century. Now times are different so stay tuned for much innovation coming from overseas.

US is a great nation but there are many sensitive things it likes to do that ticks off others very bad and results are more hostility than warranted.

What part exactly did Americans show us

we were brilliant enough to calculate that Alberta oil sands have more than Saudi Arabia

we were smart enough to figure out a way to get oil from sand (as long as price stays above 35 per barrel)

what exactly did USA show us?

what US showed us was a shield system that drained our money

that's what they showed us

it is not the 1st example of Canadian bashing on ET. A substantial number of people in the US believe that Canada is part of the US.

the bottom line is that a country with a weak currency ie US will not receive respect.

Canadians are no saints, there is a lot more of US bashing in Canada than Canadian bashing in US.

Canada is lucky that it is next to US, anyother power like UK, Germany, France, Russia..............Canadians would be spending lots of time under stress and mental subjugation.

ps: i like to be fair, and point out when someone is getting out of the line, so end of the day, US is not 'totally or even nearly as evil' but likes to get out of hand once in a while
