Yes they can. Proof: your indicator got you in at the top, on the long side though. What do you think the reverse of your indicator did to opposite direction of your trade?

In addition, not all good tools are created equal. There are subpar, par, and above par tools like anything else.

If you understood that as a trend trader we do NOT try to pick bottoms and tops we try to enter a trade as a trend develops then you would understand what I was talking about. By definition I will NOT get in the top or bottom. The farther I am away from that top or bottom the wider my stop,......AND......hopefully you guessed it,......the FEWER shares I buy because of my use of correct position sizing

You know what tradingjournal?,....iceman made a comment earlier essentially saying put up or shut up,...by asking to see some PnL of people making comments. Why not post yours?

So far I have only seen one person post a statement showing their performance... Now who do you think that was?....Oh I remember I DID!

Not saying I didnt respond to that post. I DID.

If you think $23.50 is the TOP of SMN move that is where I will disagree with you.

You seem to think catching every single whipsaw up down that occurs in a trading day is proper trading. It is not! If you traded you would understand that.....(maybe...)
 
During this banter with trading journal...also went long EEV at $39.31...stop at $37.31.

Notice how trading journal suddenly "had to go"....I guess he is getting his statements together....:D
 
i am curious to see if SMN will work out in the end. now we know that the entry was a bad one, but does one need to make perfect entries every time to make money?

No you dont need to make a perfect entry. Rarely will you make a PERFECT entry. If you did make perfect entries all the tme then you would place your stop $0.01 below your entry and there would be little need for understanding proper position sizing.
