Somebody who was "top notch" would not have left the roof unsecured.
Somebody even minimally competent would have seen the issue. The US govt has entire manuals about counter sniper operations. We're not talking about a guy who low crawled through high grass for half a day in a ghile suit or had prepared a sniper hide somewhere.
Nor would they have taken multiple minutes to respond to warnings from the public.
These people have radios. The people standing next to Trump don't need to personally see the shooter. You establish a codeword. You test all your radios. It should take one word over the radio for the SS to take action.
This was at best a clown show of incompetence.
Given that the J6 comitte was so contemptible and evil as to talk about taking Trump's SS protection away, why shouldn't I believe that Mayorkas (or similar) quietly slipped the stupidest, most useless people on his team deliberately?
The ~5'5"ft tall SS agent working close protection for a 6'3" person was just another bonus stupid. They stand him up and his head is completely visible.
Then you have the idiocy of standing him back up within seconds after he was just shot. Maybe take a minute and see if this guy had any friends before potentially exposing him to more gunfire.
If you watch the video you'll see everyone around Trump is all looking in one direction after the shooting. Understandable for non professionals, but really unprofessional for someone whose job this is. They're supposed to drill for this. After 30 seconds or so they get their act together and start covering 360 degrees, but they screw up and create the perfect window for a second shooter for 30 seconds.
Hell, I'm not even ex military or LE. I bet your typical marine gunnery sargent could list 15 things they screwed up off the top of their head.
