Which makes you wonder why they do it (or why they don't change it). Is it about creating division or solving something?
You and I walk different political lines and we can agree on this! It seems simple. Why the hell can't the masses?
The left goes for the gut w/their branding, they could do better but let's be honest, you could call your movement "puppies & ponies police" or "black lives matter" and the righties will still do their fear mongering spin & call you terrorist.
Right! Make them walk the beat. Make them get to know and be a part of their community. Make the unions less powerful - or get rid of them entirely. So many things could be done to make it better.
If they become part of the community, the added violence goes away. "Police Officer Tom" isn't going to stomp on "Suspect Bill" when they meet each other periodically at the local magazine stand. He's going to say "Bill, you need to cut that crap out or I'm taking you in."
Horseshit. I'd support a smart movement that isn't about violence and followed with burning and rioting. If the left was about solutions instead of "going for the gut" with branding (ridiculous, they just don't want to go after the fringe in their party) then they'd bring up ideas that solve problems.

Huge problem with that, cops are political pawns and need protection from
radical politicians that come every few election cycles.
Rush to judgement firings and criminal indictments for political points or fear

I never understood it.
So redefine how they are prosecuted. Establish laws that make a jury of their peers judge the officers accordingly for their action. Make states or municipalities keep track of cops who are "dirty" or "bad" by giving them a certain amount of incidents before they lose their job as a cop forever - anywhere. A national database. There are so many things that can be done.
I don't understand this whole push for establishing a national database of cops that were fired.
In what other job can you hide your past employment history?
