Atlas Shrugged the movie

I think Soros is well intentioned:

------------------------------------

The Road to hell is paved with Good Intentions:

SOROS is a scum bag. PERIOD. Just because he traded currency and destroyed the pound does not mean he has good intentions.

He is a guy that want's to prevent all you super traders on elite from making it to his level. He wants to take your profits, and spreed them through out the COMMON GOOD. He want's a bill to "EQUALIZE" living standards across the board.

He was a poor Jew from Hungary who worked hard, climbed the latter to success. Now he wants to push the latter away, now that he has billions, wants to prevent any other poor person from reaching his success level. He wants to create slave nations who fall under the rules of a "ELITE" establishment.

So, take your head outa your ass and read about SOROS. Read the news about his plan, it's in plain site! Stop swinging on someones NUTS because they made a shit tone of money.

Soros is a prick, he escaped Nazi germany, and now after getting rich off of capitalism he spends all his time/money trying to impose totalitarian government on people..... You would have to be seriously demented to do what he is doing.... I sometimes wonder whether he is suffering from stockholm syndrome....

Quote from benwm:

I think that's a little strong, fellow trader! I think Soros is well intentioned, just he lost the plot a little when he came into power. Double standards? YES.

Quote from EMRGLOBAL:

MK...

I love TEXAS and I hear what your saying. I doubt we will succeed at this moment.

This Damn Yankee doesn't see the signs. However, I do see the signs that TEXAS is going to fight the GOV and tell them to keep a arms length. Ron Paul, Perry, and the people who are not "Illegal" in Texas (Including Mexicans who are legal and strong supporters of
libertarian ideas) are far to strong to bow down to the PARASITES.

Texas has it's problems but it is the number one state for Companies to move to now. Head Quarters, Call Centers, Manufacturing, divisions are moving out of the Blue States fast and heading to Texas.

AUSTIN is about to absorb a lot of Tech Companies who are fleeing California. Austin is on the path to becoming bigger in Tech than the Silicon Valley.

And this Texas Reporter calls out OBAMA hard!

http://www.wfaa.com/news/texas-news/President-Obama-talks-with-News-8--120141169.html

So, while the state constitution gives Texas the right to succeed and the fact that Texas is not a state but a REPUBLIC, one of the few "States" in this country that have the right to succeed.....I do not see that happening in my life time.

Unless we go full civil war. Texas will tell the Progressives to go fuck themselves and the GOV will leave TEXAS alone. As long as OBAMA keeps his distance....Texas will not rattle the saber.

Right. Again, I'm not proposing some sort of violent showdown. I'm saying if we tried to peacefully divide (whether blue states/red states or low-tax, low gov't services option on voluntary basis, etc.), I seriously doubt the Left would go along.

They say they're much more intelligent and sophisticated (e.g., that NPR clown who kept calling Tea Parties "anti-intellectual," as if it made him an intellectual by repeating himself 20 times). So why not prove it? Have your semi-socialist utopia, and take Soros, Gates, Warren B., Oprah, Fannie/Freddie upper management millionaires, corporate welfare Leftists and others to help fund it. Have all the taxes, regulations, brainwashing in schools, etc. that you want. Let's see how you do compared to the other half of the country that rejects those things.

Man, I almost feel sorry for the poor fools who fall for the 'Bullshit" pumped out by the people on Wallstreet about SOROS.

I also feel sorry for the sheeople who fall for the PARASITES and their philosophy of the "COMMON GOOD".

Just saw the movie. Beautifully shot, holy moly. Whomever was responsible for that part can write his ticket now. The acting was a little wooden and a tiny bit of dialog didn't make much sense. For exmaple, Dagny is talking to Dr. Stafford about why the Science Institute is so hard on Rearden Metal, and the good doctor suddenly announces that he had these three students and launches into that bit. That part just didn't seem to flow correctly. But the acting (at least for the good guys) was supposed to be a little wooden! Part of the story is all the bad guys accusing the good guys of not having any feelings.

All in all, minor quibbles. I'd rather watch this again two more times than sit through some other junk like Knocked Up.

Full disclaimer, I really liked the book. I wish the regular critics would offer a similar disclaimer about how much they loathe the book at the end of their pans. ;)

Anyway, if you really liked the book (say enough to read it more than once) then you are likely to enjoy the movie. It's not nearly as preachy as the book despite wild claims by so-called critics. They even left out some of my favorite parts, like the complete story of the 20th Century Motor Company or Fransisco's Love of Money speech at the Rearden party.

I sure hope they include Hank's speech to his mother, wife and brother.

I am looking forward to the next two parts. Don't go to the movies much, but I will for this.

to raise the margin requirements to 50% (instead of 6%) and to limit the trading to 5% (instead of 25%) of oil available for mutual funds, hedge funds and ETFs.
---------------------------------------------------

Possible plan by OBAMA to pass the "EQUALIZATION LAW" in the OIL TRADING INDUSTRY.

Who is John Galt?

Part 2 comes out 2012 to be followed by part 3, the end in 2013.

Lets see if this movie can make a difference or lets see if the Free loading scumbags who are more than 45% of this country, the scum back Politicians and PARASITES who make up Washington on both sides of the isle, destroy Capitalism.

IMHO the US goes into pure destruction of the Free Markets......20% is what happens in life the other 80% is how you respond.

I enjoyed "The Fountainhead" tremendously...couldnt put it down.

"Atlas Shrugged" was okay...it ebbed and flowed. While slogging thru Galts 85 page speech I felt like putting it down forever 45 pages into that diatribe. But I pushed through.

I would never watch a movie about it. 1280 pages of objectivism is enough for me.

If you are a trader and you dont at least appreciate the concept of anarcho capitalism or objectivism then your probably not a successful one.

Is trading not the ultimate form of capitalism? all the risk - all the reward (less the govt vig of course!)

Don't ever lose that sense of humor.
