Athletes call for Skip Bayless to be fired after ‘sick’ Damar Hamlin tweet

So...I watched the game last night. I don't think Skip did anything wrong. This is what he wrote:
“No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game – but how?” Bayless tweeted as medical personnel tended to Hamlin on the field in Cincinnati. “This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant.”

He basically just asked what a lot of people were wondering. However, there's a lot of resentment by athletes towards Skip. Skip has made a lot of money by basically trolling LeBron James with comical takes. If you take him seriously, I think you're a fool.

Unsurprisingly, some are making this a racial issue as Skip is a white man who was moving some attention away from Hamlin to another issue lots of people cared about. This is more noticed in comment sections versus spoken words by athletes.
 
I think this begs the question...who gets to decide what can be talked about and when can it be talked about when a tragedy happens? Morally speaking, who gets to be the arbitrator of all this?

It's starting to become political. This issue crosses over with politics to me. I'm with Skip here. I don't share the "shut up and grieve" mentality lots of people have.
 
I like Skip but the tweet was distasteful,he certainly should not be fired though.

Skip uses his platform to advocate for social causes,including anti racism and BLM.They need to give him a break.

Lots of people wanted to know what would happen with the game and future games. I get that Hamlin's teammates care, his family cares, his friends care, etc. I get that they suspended the game, because of this. However, rhetoric like the only thing that matters is Darin Hamlin is nonsense. Most football fans can only care so much about somebody they never heard of until he collapsed on the field. Everybody wishes him well. But when do the rest of us get to move on from the praying/grieving and get to talk about how it's going to impact the games going forward?

I totally understand completely 100%. A couple of boxers die every year from injuries sustained during their sport and no one says a word. The thing is, Skip is a sports pundit and part of his job is to "read the room"... he's got to deal with the consequences of his profession, whether fair or unfair, just like Damar Hamlin has to deal with his, and how we must all deal with our own.

Skip is a turd of the sports journalist world who always wants to get attention. I dont think he said anything outlandish, just as usual Skip couldnt keep his mouth shut and wait for a better time as people were mainly focused on the life of the athlete.... other than that skip can stfu overall...
