This is where I disagree, because Russia likes to bluff, their ammunition does not have unlimited resources, whereby the west does, Nato is bigger, more manufacturing.

West will grind russia down, not vice versa.

Unfortunately russia/ukraine conflict is a distraction, China is the bigger threat imo.
West are going easy on russia, no shooting as such into russian territory, zero 'no fly' zones, not much of attacking ships, this can be ramped up if required in the future.

We are going easy. We have to. Europe doesn't like the idea of a nuclear winter in Paris. Kinda ruins the whole vibe ya know.

Now, I have never been to Russia, but I have to think they have plenty of steel mills etc to pump out plenty of old school armament.

And regarding the sanctions preventing any high tech type stuff.... pfff... bs.... the Silk Road so to speak.... friggin China or any number of international arms dealers will exploit the shortage and make a nice profit getting the stuff Moscow needs.

We can't even stop China's Fentanyl from crossing our Southern boarders, do you really we're gonna prevent circuit boards out of Taiwan from crossing 760,000 miles of Russian boarders?

So tell us --- are the biggest markets for Chinese factories selling tech - Russia or Western nations? China and their companies are already limiting what technology they are sending to China because they don't want to lose the bulk of their business with Western nations due to sanctions. This is also coupled with the majority of advance semiconductors in the region are manufactured in Taiwan and not in China.

It's a nasty place. Black markets for arms thrive.
Regarding chips, there's a big difference between supplying a few thousand whatever chips... and supplying 20M to Nio or Tesla.

Russia has scientists, engineers, etc, etc... and you can bet your ass whatever microprocessors, or servos, or any widget they need to build their missles, they can secure on the black market.
If you think othererwise, you need to get the f out of Mayberry Andy.

Let's take a look at reality. Russia is so short of microprocessors and electronic chips that they cannot manufacture additional smart munitions or missiles, they are unable to manufacture modern tanks complete with electronics -- they are not even able to manufacture new consumer products such as cars with any modern electronic features (hope they enjoy the 1970s model).

For Russia -- the entire situation is a fiasco. The smuggling of chips is not going to save the Russian manufacturing economy -- nor is the smuggling of chips helping their military since Taiwan has tightened controls on the diversion of chips significantly.

Have you also taken a look at the brain drain of all the engineers and software programmers leaving Russia since late February.
