i know a lot of people who despise obama. not one of them does so because they think he is a muslim.

so yes, i think religion goes on the back burner when other, more critical aspects of the country's survival are at stake.

i should also add that even if someone from the church of scientology came into the running for president, but he was an established fiscal conservative, even libertarian, i would vote for him despite believing that church is a group of kooks.
