The town's population was 135,234 as of the 2010 census (an increase of 43.1% since 2000), making it the largest town and seventh-largest municipality statewide. As of April 2018, the town's estimated population was 162,025, though Cary was still considered a town because that is how it was registered with the state.

First of all, there is no way to truly tell town to town, state to state what the gun ownership rate is as we do not track gun ownership and rates. The only thing that can be legally tracked is background applications. So, whatever study you are citing is inherently flawed.
Republican's seem to have an unerring tenancy to take an outlier and apply it to everything.
You post about crime in cities with multi millions of people and compare them to towns with populations of 130-160k

There are too many guns in the system - illegal and legal. And there's no way you can change that at this point. No ban will address it.
