Assigned date vs acquired date

Hello,

What is the acquired date(bought/sold)? If,say, on June 5, I'd sold August puts. At August OE, I'm assigned(bought); did I buy on June 5 or on August OE?

I'm thinking June 5th, but just want to make sure..

You bought the stock when you BOUGHT the stock, not when you sold a contract that obligated you to buy the stock. You bought stock at Aug expiration.
