trader 1515 you need to get your facts straight and understand how lightspeed works. your office is using a direct server thus few problems. but anyone who uses the vpn or ssl is having problems and thats probably at least 1/2 lightspeeds business. but of course vol has been low for 9 months thus the problems are no as great but when vol spikes big the remote guys are frozen out many times i believe one of your owners names is omar right? i looked at your firm years ago and my question is you ran a trading under a generic llc which according to new finra rules is not allowed anymore. you used to take a deposit and overide commissions which is not allowed. so i ask did your firm change there buiness model?are you still requiring a deposit and over riding non series 7 traders?

Piggie get your head out of the mud you have no idea what you are talking about. I saw your post earlier about Genesis? Laser? probably the worst platform i ever used.

Anvil and Lightspeed are very similar I have used both and spoken with a few assent traders who are going to Lightspeed because of it. I heard they are also offering a real good commission deal to all new assent traders coming over.

As far as avatar they run a legit business. get a clue or stop posting nonsense

Been trading in the Assent LA office for few years now
Today's announcement is no doubt unfortunate
But I guess when traders are dropping like flies
The entire trading firm can very well be the next one to go
Already got a backup plan in place but definitely want to look around before I sign the dotted line
Anyone know any other good prop trading firms in the LA area?
I know Bright has offices here.
Thanks

I heard your boy Joe was shopping your whole office around. Maybe you can just stay where you are and a new name will go on the door.

The latest I have heard is that many ("100's" was what I heard) of the NY-area ex-Assent traders have already been scooped up by a new firm that has known that this was going down for weeks if not months.

So how are many of these series 7 traders going to lightspeed? lightspeed has a few llc offices but they're probably not around much longer as most are being shut down. most assent traders are getting leverage thus lightspeed might not cut it.i'm sure most of the assent offices will work ou there own deals to keep there traders.

Has not been sold to the previous owners of Andover Brokerage, instead it is being held as intellectual property by Sungard.

For now..... Many of the branch heads I spoke with believe the system will stay around.

The old owners are recruiting hard for a new company, which they will probably sell to Sungard in a few years again.

As for other companies, I hear Dimension in NYC is handing out new deals and LightSpeed is always a favorite. If the Anvil system does stay around, I will stay on it. Nothing tops the API speed for non-HFT black box trading

That's the new BD I was talking about. In partnership with Legend. Ex-SEC head in the mix somewhere too.

I guess it'll be interesting to see how this plays out in the next 2 months. Just hope they don't forget that Assent does have an office in LA!

From what I understand at my frim is that Anvil will still be accessable to select firms that have rights to continue to use the platform. Hopefully this clears this up for you, so as long as your firm is not assent you should be able to continue to use the platform.
